Getting set up with Google Sheet publishing
The Digital Storytelling Studio often makes use of Google Sheets as a way to capture data or content for many of our pages for projects. In doing this we typically integrate an add on that allows non-technical staff to publish updates to the related project page(s).
Below is a way to enable this feature if there is one associated with your project and its related Google Sheet. Follow the instructions below...
Open the Google Sheet
Click on the "Add ons" link in the top navigation
Click on the link that allows you to continue authorization
Select your account
You are going to see a warning that says "Google has not verified the app"
On that page click on the link that says "Advanced" on the lower left
- That should open an area that has a link that reads "Go to [project name] (unsafe)"
- Click on "Go to [project name] (unsafe)"
A page that will ask for access opens up.
- After you click "Allow" publishing should be enabled
Note
Once you have authorized the spreadsheet, you will need to select again the link you chose (i.e. Publish or Preview).
